CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) - One person has been killed after an apparent robbery gone wrong in Clinton Township Thursday afternoon. Another suspect is still on the loose.

It happened outside the Bank of America at 16 Mile Road and Gratiot Avenue.

Fox 2's Maurielle Lue is on scene and reports the suspects never made it inside the bank and tried to rob a money carrier outside. The suspects and the money carrier both fired shots. One suspect got away in a mini van and the other suspect was killed.

Authorities found the van abandoned near Remick and Stair streets, where they searched the area with a K-9 unit for the suspect. Authorities say they found blood in the van, leading them to believe the second suspect may have also been struck in the gunfire.

One witness at the scene tells Lue her car was struck by a stray bullet. Another witness says she has medical training and tried to help.
