Strong storms leave damage across the metro

Posted: Updated:

Severe thunderstorms moved through metro Atlanta Wednesday, leaving behind damage.

There have been many reports of storm damage including numerous trees and power lines down. As of 6:30 p.m., Georgia Power reports more than 6,000 customers were affected with power outages.

High temperatures and a moist atmosphere have helped spur on development of these storms.

The main threat of Wednesday's thunderstorm activity was winds up to 60 mph, lightning and hail.
