CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A woman was killed and five other people were wounded in a West Side crash early Saturday, police said.

About 4:25 a.m., the six -- two males and four females -- were in a vehicle that crashed into a pole, then a viaduct in the 4500 block of West North Avenue, police said.

Three of the females had to be extricated from the vehicle, police said.

Aayiah Boyles, 20, was taken to Norwegian American Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 5:02 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. Boyles lived in the 500 block of North Long Avenue, authorities said.

Two females were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and another was taken to Stroger Hospital, police said. The two males later walked into West Suburban Medical Center for treatment.

Their ages and conditions were not identified, and the cause of the crash was not immediately known Sunday afternoon.
