Security guard accused of attacking teen

CONYERS, Ga. -

A security guard has been arrested after a teenager said he crossed the line at a store in Conyers and the incident was caught on camera.

Destiny Cole tells FOX 5 video caught a security guard at an Ingles straddling her. Andrew Arnold, the security guard, reportedly tried to keep her pinned down until police could arrive.

The video of Arnold on top of the 17-year-old was recorded by Cole's older sister. The two went to Ingles on Salem Road Thursday night. Cole says she was in line to pay when her sister went back for sodas and that's when Arnold spotted her.

“He told me to leave his store and I'm like this is not your store,” said Cole.

Cole tells FOX 5's George Franco Arnold apparently believed she'd been banned from the store after an unsubstantiated incident involving shoplifting last year.

According to the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office, there is no order to keep Cole out of the store.

“He like body slams me on the floor and then proceeds to take my wrist and push it up against my chest,” said Cole.

The Rockdale County Sheriff's Office arrested Arnold after the responding deputy looked at the surveillance video from the store. He was charged with simple battery.

An Ingles representative tells FOX 5 Arnold was not an Ingles employee, but a contract security guard that violated Ingles policy.
