CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Police are asking the public’s help in locating a man who tried to lure two girls into a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in the Hermosa neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

Two girls were behind a home in the 4500 block of West Deming Place about 5 p.m. when a man driving a gray four-door Honda approached them and tried to lure them into the car, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The girls did not engage him in conversation and ran away to safety, police said.

The suspect is described as a clean-shaven 6-foot to 6-foot-2 man, between 35 and 40 years old, with an olive complexion, straight black hair, blue eyes an crooked chipped yellow teeth, according to police. He was wearing a black hood, blue jeans and brown shoes.

He was driving a gray four-door Honda with black rims, police said. The vehicle had paint missing in the front and sounded loud, according to police. He had a brown pit bull with red-colored eyes in the vehicle with him.

Anybody with information about the incident is asked to contact Area North detectives at (312) 744-8261.
