Authorities have cancelled an Amber Alert issued for a 3-year-old boy missing in Virginia on Tuesday.  They say Tommy lee Able Engle was found safe on Wednesday afternoon, and his father has been taken into custody.

The little boy was abducted in Patrick County, Va. by his father, Tommy Lee Travis Engle,  after a string of events stemming from a domestic disturbance, according to authorities.

Police say the boy's father was taken into custody at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday in Pikeville, Kentucky. Authorities said the elder Engle called them just after midnight by cell phone, and conversations continue through the early morning hours until he was apprehended.

Engle has family in Kentucky.  He is currently being held in the Pike County Jail awaiting extradition back to Patrick County, Va.
