Bicyclists ride trail to honor murdered Armada teen

Posted: Updated:
(WJBK) - Hundreds of people biked on a Macomb County trail to remember 14-year-old April Millsap, who was killed recently while walking her dog.

Bike riders donned pink, April's favorite color, as they rode from Armada to Romeo. They say they will not live in fear and are taking back their trail.

April's body was discovered by joggers on the Macomb Orchard Trail July 24.

The investigation is still open in April's death. Police say they have no one in custody for her murder at this time.

Meanwhile, a fundraiser is underway at the Sunoco gas station at 32 Mile and Romeo Plank in Armada through 5 a.m. Tuesday.

The gas station is donating five cents for every gallon of gas sold to April's family.

The fundraiser is also hosting a car wash and a snow cone truck.
