BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (KMSP) -

The city of Brooklyn Park, Minn. is holding a town hall meeting on Sunday, Aug, 3 to discuss concerns about the Ebola virus. Brooklyn Park is home to many West African immigrants.

More than 1,300 people have been infected with Ebola since February in the West African counties of Guinea, Liberia and Sierra. 729 have died.

The first of two American aid workers diagnosed with Ebola in Liberia has been transferred to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta for treatment. Bringing Ebola patients into the U.S. has struck fear in many Americans, but doctors at Emory say "we owe them the right to receive the best medical care."

CDC Deputy Director Steve Monroe says Ebola is spread only through direct physical contact or by bodily fluids, so while the virus may sound terrifying, experts say there is no reason for the American public to worry.
