Lack of 90 degree heat this summer

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Tuesday, July 22 was only the third 90 degree day of the meteorological summer and the first in July at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport. Normally, there are six 90 degree days in Chicago during the month of July.

There is a very good chance that there will be no more 90 degree days the rest of July, given the fact that days 8-14 in the forecast are expected to be below normal. For a look at that forecast, CLICK HERE.

Here are some eye opening stats when comparing this July to that of July 2012, which set all kinds of records.

Through July 23 of 2012, there had been 16 days in the 90s compared to one this July. July of 2012 finished with 18 days in the 90s and three days in the 100s.

May of 2012 through September of 2012 saw an incredible 46 days of 90 degrees or higher.

The one month outlook for August and the three month outlook for August through October favor cooler than normal temperatures.
