County settles lawsuit with employee who claimed she was fired for being gay

Bergen County officials have settled a lawsuit for a payment of $199,000 to the estate of a former assistant director of the county’s addiction recovery program,according to northjersey.com.

Joanne Miltner, who passed away in 2012 at the age of 57, filed the lawsuit in 2011 for sexual harassment and discrimination, in which she alleged she had been fired because she was gay.
