We are just hours away from the first Metro train to roll on the Silver Line. Metro isn’t the only one counting down until this service begins at noon Saturday. When it happens, Tysons Corner Center and area businesses nearby are hoping to expand with a lot more profit.

After nearly a decade, the wait is just about over. On Saturday, Phase 1 of the much anticipated Silver Line will start running. But perhaps the most important job is the person who will be behind the controls of the inaugural train.
After nearly a decade, the wait is just about over. On Saturday, Phase 1 of the much anticipated Silver Line will start running. But perhaps the most important job is the person who will be behind the controls of the inaugural train.
Service on the Silver Line through Wiehle-Reston east begins next Saturday, July 26th.

Today folks had a chance to tour the new facility which is being called "multi-modal."

It boasts not only a state of the art metro line, but also a bike room that houses 200 bikes,  2300 onsite parking spaces, 45 "kiss and ride" spaces and 10 bus bays on the north side of the station and 5-on the south.

Cyclists interested in using the bike room will need to sign up for a membership.

The annual cost is 60-dollars with a one time 15-dollars for a key fob to access the facility.

Phase two of this project which extends to Dulles International Airport is expected to be complete by 2018.
