Man Accused Of Spying On Neighbor With Hidden Cameras

Posted: Updated:

"I feel like it's something I saw in the movies, and then I realize this just happened to me," said a Mount Laurel, New Jersey woman.

We're concealing her identity after a call to police about a burglary Friday revealed hidden cameras in her home.

"How, why, when, who? Is this a joke?" she questioned.

The woman says she left for work that morning but returned home an hour later after realizing she'd forgotten her cell phone. She says she noticed the attic door open, and an air vent cover and tools were laid out around her bedroom.

"I still don't think that it hit me because nothing was taken. The television was here, and the house wasn't ransacked," she said. So, she left her home on Mayfair Lane but called her husband, who told her to call police.

They arrived to find everything cleaned up but searched and reportedly found a camera in the bedroom inside a vent and one installed in a tiny hole drilled in the bathroom shower. She believes the suspect hid it and cleaned up when she left.

"I'm more just violated. It's not that I feel unsafe, just uncomfortable," said the woman.

Police say further investigation led them just 100 feet away to a neighbor's house, where they arrested 36-year-old Nader Ibrahim.

The victim, who lives with her husband and 2-year-old son, says it's unclear how long the cameras had been there or how many times the suspect had been in and out of her house, leaving her with an uneasy feeling.

"This man was in my house. Was he in my closets, in my drawers? What did he see on the camera? What did he do with what he saw on the camera?" she questioned.

Mount Laurel Police say the suspect has since posted bail. He's charged with burglary, invasion of privacy and criminal mischief.
