Air Force Thunderbirds fly over Target Field for All-Star anthem

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds flew over downtown Minneapolis at the conclusion of Idina Menzel's singing of the national anthem to kickoff the 2014 MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday.

The Thunderbird flyover featured six F-16 Fighting Falcons in their signature Delta formation over Target Field.

“The MLB All-Star Game is one of the most patriotic events in America, and we’re honored to be a part of it,” said Lt. Col. Greg Moseley, the Thunderbirds commander and lead pilot. “When we fly over that stadium, baseball fans will get a reminder of the precision and teamwork their U.S. Air Force embodies every day.”

The Thunderbird pilots

Thunderbird 1 (Commander/Leader): Lt. Col. Greg Moseley, from Seguin, Texas.

Thunderbird 2 (Left Wing): Maj. Joshua Boudreax, from Covington, La.

Thunderbird 3 (Right Wing): Maj. Caroline Jensen, from River Falls, Wis.

Thunderbird 4 (Slot): Maj. Curtis Dougherty, from Downingtown, Pa.

Thunderbird 5 (Lead Solo): Maj. Blaine Jensen, from Kingman, Kan.

Thunderbird 6 (Opposing Solo): Maj. Jason Curtis, from Kalispell, Mont.

Since their inception in 1953, more than 350 million people in all 50 states and 61 countries have witnessed the Thunderbirds in thousands of official aerial demonstrations.
