A fire caused $15,000 in damage to a home in northwest suburban Elgin Saturday night.
Firefighters found visible flames coming out of the roof of the single-story home in the 600 block of Luda Street, according to a release from the Elgin fire department.
The fire was extinguished in an hour and five minutes, according to the release.
No one was home at the time of the blaze and no one was hurt, according to the release. The home sustained about $15,000 in damages.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
A 13-year-old boy was killed and at least 22 others -- including a 3-year-old boy -- have been wounded in shootings across Chicago since Friday evening.
