World Cup beauty loses modeling contract after posting hunting joke on Twitter

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The beautiful World Cup fan who scored a modeling contract with L’Oreal after being seen on TV has now been let go because of a hunting joke she posted on Twitter, according to a report.

Axelle Despiegelaere, 17, signed a contract for modeling with L’Oreal after being seen on TV cheering for Belgium.

However, she posted a photo on Twitter -- on the day the U.S. played Belgium in the World Cup -- of her squatting behind a dead gazelle that she had hunted. Along with the picture she posted, “Hunting is not a matter of life or death. It's much more important than that..this was about 1 year ago...ready to hunt Americans today haha.”

Fans took to social media to express their outrage, and Despiegelaere eventually apologized just saying it was a joke.

L’Oreal wasn’t laughing either, though. The company told The Independent that her contract has been “completed.”
