SMYRNA, Ga. -

A Smyrna police officer is credited with saving a baby’s life.

Master Patrol Officer Darrell Nesbit was called to an apartment on Glendale Place, late Wednesday night.

An 11-month-old was unresponsive and not breathing.

Officer Nesbit performed CPR on the baby on the trunk of his patrol car, and the baby started breathing a short time later.

Nicholas, the toddler, was treated and released from the hospital seemingly fine. Doctors are trying to determine why the toddler is having seizures.
