Ross Harris loses job, wife gets a lawyer

Posted: Updated:
COBB COUNTY, Ga. - As much of the nation watches their sensational story, Ross Harris was fired Thursday, and his wife got a lawyer.
Harris was officially terminated from his I.T.job at Home Depot Corporate in Cobb County. A company spokesperson said Harris has been on unpaid leave since his arrest three weeks ago.
His wife Leanna, who has not been charged in her son's death, has hired Atlanta lawyer Lawrence Zimmerman to represent her.
High profile attorney and former prosecutor, Jerry Froelich says Leanna Harris has made the right move, and hiring an attorney should not suggest she's trying to hide something.
"Great move," Froelich says. "Should've [hired one] from the beginning."
Froelich says Zimmerman's first advice was likely telling Harris not to talk to police.
"So many people either provide evidence against themselves or what they said was not exactly right," he says. "And they didn't mean to lie, they're just misunderstood under the pressure."
But according to police, investigators already have reason to be suspicious of Harris.
Police say, that in the hours after Cooper Harris died, they noticed Harris showing almost no emotion. They say she was recorded on video in the police station, asking Ross Harris if he told investigators too much. And police also say, when Leanna Harris
went to pick Cooper up from daycare and he wasn't there, she immediately said Ross must have left him in the car.
Froelich says we can expect Leanna Harris to continue keeping her low profile.
