The Fourth of July weekend has been marred by a string of violence in Minneapolis -- two overnight stabbings add to three shootings that occurred just a day earlier.

MORE: 2 dead, 4 injured in 3 north Minneapolis shootings

Minneapolis police received a call at 12:43 a.m. on Sunday reporting a stabbing on the 1000-block of Currie Avenue. No one was on-scene when officers arrived but a man was found a few blocks away with a non-life threatening stab wound and taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center.

A short time later, a woman showed up up at HCMC with a non-life threatening injury reportedly from the same stabbing incident, police said. Upon further investigation, shell casings were found at the scene of the stabbing. Police have not made any arrests at this time.
