New Jersey Community Welcomes Guardsman Home

AUDUBON, NJ -

A New Jersey community welcomed home PFC Joseph Jones, III from his 11 month deployment in Afghanistan on Thursday.

Family and friends turned out in his hometown of Audubon, New Jersey, to say thanks for his service.

22-year-old Jones joined the NJ Nation Guard in September 2012 and serves as a Combat Engineer driving MRAPS.

Jones had no idea what was going on outside with all the commotion.

“This was insane. I went outside, I thought something was going down outside. I saw the cop cars and everything,” he said.

He even took time during the celebration to thank those who served before him.

Joe is a graduate of Audubon High School.
