Phoenix police: Couple found killed in home - KMSP-TV

Police investigate double homicide at Phoenix home

Posted: Updated:

Phoenix police are investigating the killings of a married couple in their north Phoenix home near 35th Avenue and Grovers.

Sgt. Steve Martos says officers found the bodies of 81-year-old William Singer and his 64-year-old wife Wednesday afternoon. The wife's name wasn't released immediately.

According to Martos, detectives determined that trauma and evidence at the scene indicates the deaths are a double homicide.

Martos says officers went to the home to check on the couple's welfare after a caretaker got no answer at the door to the home.

"They forced entry into the home.. sadly when they made entry, they discovered both victims were inside deceased.  They had obvious signs of trauma," said Martos.

Detectives have determined this is not a murder-suicide and it appears they died a violent death.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is strongly encouraged to contact the Phoenix police or Silent Witness at (480) WITNESS.
