USO Charity Auction At The Laugh Factory

Posted: Updated:
West Hollywood, CA -

They say laughter is the best medicine...and perhaps it's also the best way to say THANKS to our troops! Bob Hope USO teamed up with Julien's auction house, The Laugh Factory, and K-earth 101 to raise money for our Southern Californian troop members as well as their family members.

Richard Lewis, Dane Cook, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Tom Arnold, etc., were just among the few celebrity comedians who performed a set during the wee early hours this morning to entertain our servicemen and women. The event also auctioned off some cool items including a table read with the entire cast of The Simpson's and guitars signed by the Eagles! If you'd like to donate $$ to help our troops & their families, text 5-6-5-1-2. Once you do, a USO personnel will call you back for your helpful donation. If you're interested in the auction items, head to: www.BobHopeUSO.org. You have up till July 14th to make your contribution!

And if nothing else, take the time to thank anyone you know who is bravely serving this country. Honoring our veterans and active troop members is the truest way to celebrate the 4th of July!

More than a dozen noted comedians are set to support the men, women and families of the United States Armed Forces during the upcoming Radiothon, Live Video Stream, Online Auction and Comedy Festival for America’s Troops on July 3 benefiting the Bob Hope USO. The event will be chaired and hosted by K-EARTH Radio’s Gary Bryan, with support from Laugh Factory owner Jamie Masada and entertainment industry leader Jimmy Honore.

The event includes live broadcasts on number one-rated K-EARTH and laughfactory.com from the Laugh Factory Hollywood featuring a special live comedy show with top comedians from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. on July 3. Radiothon and Live Video Stream listeners can make secure credit card donations online at www.bobhopeuso.com or by sending checks made out to Bob Hope USO at 203 World Way, Suite 200, Los Angeles, CA 90045.

Event proceeds will benefit the Bob Hope USO, covering the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, San Bernardino and Riverside. The USO has cares for our wounded heroes, supports families of the fallen and helps our service members transition back into civilian life. A decade of war has left more than 400,000 troops wounded, disabled or killed. Our troops and their families and their families need us now more than ever. The event will make a huge difference for more than 130,000 troops each year at Bob Hope USO centers at Los Angeles, Ontario and Palm Springs International Airports, and soon, at John Wayne Airport in Orange County. The USO provides a home away from home for our troops and keeps them connected to the families they left behind.

The Bob Hope USO, a non-profit organization, is totally dependent on private, tax-deductible contributions from individuals, organizations and corporations to support its activities.

Sutter Zachman had his first record deal when he was barely out of his teens. You may have seen the Orange County native was on stage at the Largo and other hot clubs around LA. He then left town...after what he called a few "bouts" with the music business, but now he is back with a new EP called ‘Repeat Offender.'
