New Castle County Police Investigate Possible Abduction

NEW CASTLE COUNTY, Del. -

New Castle Police are investigating the possible abduction of Nefertiri Trader,33, from the unit block of Freedom Trail (Saddlebrook) in Castle.

Authorities say on Monday around 9:37 p.m., they received a 9-1-1 call from a family member. According to police, Trader and her vehicle have not been seen since 4 a.m. Monday morning.

Investigators say her disappearance is under "suspicious circumstances."

“It’s just not like her not to call,” said the missing woman’s cousin, William Trader.. “She's got three kids and she would never be away from them for too long.

Trader is a single mother of three who works in housekeeping at Christiana Hospital. Her family hasn't heard a word from her since she was last seen getting a pack of cigarettes at a 7-Eleven near her home. Then, she was seen struggling with a man wearing a hoodie on her front porch around 4 a.m. Monday.

“Not sure if it’s a neighbor or someone passing through the neighborhood saw her being forcibly taken from her residence. And put into her car,” said New Castle County Police Officer Tracey Duffy.

Police patrolled the neighborhood. She was last seen being placed into her silver 2000 Acura RL with Del. tags 404-893.

“There's no indication right now that this has anything to do with domestic violence,” said Officer Duffy.

Relatives say it's very unlike Trader to just allow anyone at her home, they speculate that she must have known whoever approached her on the front porch.

She normally doesn't hang with anybody that late at night unless she knows him,” said William.

Police are looking for surveillance video of trader at the 7-Eleven. Family members say they're not trying to unravel the mystery behind her disappearance, their main focus is bringing trader home safe.

Police say there’s no indication that her phone or credit cards have been used.

Nefertiri is described as a black female, 5'6" tall, with brown hair and brown eyes.
