6 exercises to target your lower abs

Posted: Updated:

Traditional core exercises, like crunches or bicycle, are great for sculpting your upper abdominals and obliques. But they barely touch those pesky lower abs, making toning this trouble spot quite a challenge for most of us.

If you want to really flatten and sculpt your belly, you have to make sure you’re hitting every last inch of those hidden muscles, and Fox 9 fitness expert Ali Holman from CoreCamper.com shows you how!

Anytime you move your legs, you’re working your lower abdomen. Ali shows us how you can get rid of the lower ab pooch for good.

EXERCISES
You will need: Paper plates, ball, weights

Plank Push: Elbow plank, feet on plates, push feet back keeping back flat.
One Legged Mountain Climber: One foot on plate, other knee pulled in.
Army Crawl: Feet on plates, elbow walk up and down mat.
Hip Raises: Holding ball in between knees, slowly raise straight legs up
X abs: Weights in hands, bring straight arm across to opposite foot
6 pack scissor: Crunched up, straight leg bike
