Plane Removed From Marsh In Fort Mott State Park

Posted: Updated:

A small plane went down in a South Jersey State Park on Saturday, and SkyFox was over the scene Tuesday morning as crews worked to remove the aircraft from the mud.

Workers could be seen using an excavator to move their way through the muddy marsh.

Ropes were tied around the plane by workers in the bucket of the excavator, so that the plane could later be secured to a helicopter that would take it into an open field by Fort Mott State Park.

Once in the field, crews could work to remove the wings, so that the aircraft would be suitable for further transport.

Both of the plane's occupants escaped without injury.
