Trent Tucker weighs in on Love's future with the Timberwolves

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Former Minnesota shooting guard Trent Tucker agrees head coach and president of basketball operations Flip Saunders is in a very difficult situation when it comes to All-Star forward Kevin Love’s future with the franchise.

“[Saunders] knows that he’s in a very difficult situation with Kevin Love because Kevin Love is the guy that controls all of the pieces here,” Tucker said.

Tucker added the Wolves could make a trade for him, but Love is aware he holds the control, but the longer the issue drags, the deeper it goes into next season, problems could arise in the locker room and options could be limited for the team moving forward especially during the All-Star push and trade deadline.

BIG THREE OPTING OUT

With LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh all opting out of their contracts with the Miami Heat and discussing financial terms of new contracts together, Tucker says ultimately, the Heat will be better off. The Big Three’s move opens up some salary cap space on the team gives head coach Pat Riley and his staff a chance to bring in one more marquee player to join if they’re able to resign them.
