LINDENWOLD, N.J. -

The Camden County Prosecutor and the Lindenwold Police Chief announced on Monday that a man from Clayton, New Jersey, has been arrested in connection with the Lindenwold hit-and-run after police received an anonymous tip.

Authorities say that Edward J. Russell, 58, was arrested at 1 a.m. on Monday on a charge of knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with serious bodily injury.

He was released with a summons.

According to police, they were dispatched to the 100 block of S. White Horse Pike for an unconscious man lying near the road on Saturday night.

When police arrived they found a pedestrian that had apparently been struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, according to police.

Lindenwold Police were able to obtain surveillance footage, which shows an older, dark colored Ford pick-up (Possibly an F150) with a silver tool box across the back. The video shows the vehicle's brake lights come on briefly and it then continues westbound on the White Horse Pike. The vehicle should have damage to the front passenger side, police say.

The 57-year-old male was transported to Cooper hospital with head trauma in critical condition.  The victim’s condition was upgraded to stable condition on Sunday.
