WEATHER TIMELINE: Flooding flare-up possible this weekend

Flooded communities across Minnesota might want to look at this as a "heads up," because severe weather could bring down another round of heavy rain on Saturday and Sunday nights.

Potential storm timeline

Saturday: A slight risk of severe thunderstorms could bring localized flash floods and exacerbate current flooding problems in southern Minnesota.

Sunday: The most substantial severe storms could come in the afternoon and linger through Monday morning.

What to expect

As the weekend progresses, the severe weather threat will increase -- but it could take any and all forms. Large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes are possible.
