Police Search For Suspect Accused Of Robbing, Attacking Woman In Oxford Circle

Posted: Updated:

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA-Northeast Detectives are looking for a man accused of attacking and robbing a woman walking into her apartment in Oxford Circle on June 15th.

The incident was caught on camera. And a voicemail message from the victims’ phone captured the screams of the violent robbery as the victim arrived home to her Oakland Terrace apartment.

The robbery victim told Fox 29 the chilling story of how she was begging her attacker to spare her life.

"He told me you know I have a gun I blow your head. I blow your head,” the victim said.

The 45-year-old victim, who we're not identifying, recounts the terrifying night and shows us the bruises still left on her arm.

According to police, she was entering her home when the suspect approached, stole her jewelry and forced her to call a friend to bring him money.

"Call your friend and tell him what is going on and he should bring the money. If not, I blow your head,” she said.

In the meantime, the man drives the victim around Northeast Philadelphia for more than a half hour.

The whole time she is trying to convince the attacker not to kill her. She thinks he listened.

"He said he's got a problem. He's got a family. And the only thing I told him I’m going to pray for him,” she said.

Once the friend delivered the cash, the SUV takes off again. But this time, the woman is let free on the Roosevelt Boulevard.

"That's when I’m trying to convince him don't kill me, don't do anything wrong, we are going to help you,” she said.

Although the robbery happened 10 days ago residents who live in the complex hadn't heard about the attack until today.

"As women it's not right. We should have known. Especially for it to happen like a week ago they should have said something,” one resident said.

Police say the suspect forced the victim into her car, drove off, and let the woman go about a block from where the incident started.

Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic male, 20 years-of-age, 5'8", 180 lbs. and of muscular build. He was last seen wearing a gray or green shirt around his face, and long blue jean shorts.
