Blackhawks Keith named 2014 James Norris Trophy winner

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith has won the 2014 James Norris Trophy, according to the NHL.

The award is given annually to the defenseman who shows the greatest all-around ability at the position.

Keith, 30, scored 61 points in 79 games this season. He ranked sixth in the NHL in assists, and first among defenseman. He also was awarded his first Norris Trophy of his career after the 2009-10 season.

The winner of the James Norris Trophy is selected by the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association at the end of the regular season through a poll.
