ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) -

St. Paul police are in the process of closing the city’s impound lot off Concord Street and Highway 52, due to possible flooding along the Mississippi River. Cars are being moved to another location to prevent flood damage.

The St. Paul impound lot phone number will remain the same, 651-266-5642. The police department is requesting patience as they make arrangements for alternative vehicle storage.

St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman has declared a state of emergency as the city prepares for its worst flooding since 2001. The Mississippi River is expected to rise another 2 feet before cresting on Thursday, nearly 7 feet above flood stage.
