Wettest June day on record in Twin Cities

Posted: Updated:

June 19th, 2014 will now go down in the record books as the 5th wettest calendar day in history with records dating back nearly 150 years. A whopping 4.13” of rain fell at MSP Airport on Thursday which was a months’ worth of rain in less than 24 hours and making it the wettest June day ever recorded. We average about 4.25” of rain in the entire month of June. Because of this, it is the wettest June in the metro since 1874 with less than an inch to go to break the all-time record. Here are some rainfall totals from Thursday and where we now stand in the month of June and for all time wettest days.
