RESCAN: How to get FOX 9 and My29 over-the-air on UHF

Posted: Updated:

KMSP-TV is making the move to UHF for a better over-the-air signal. This transition happened on Tuesday, June 24. Here’s how to make sure you’re getting the best, free signal of FOX 9 News, NFL football and your favorite FOX shows.

1. Press the Menu button on your Converter Box, Digital TV, or remote

2. Go to Setup or Settings

3. Go to Installation, or System, or Channels

4. Go to Scan Channels, Program Channels, Auto-Scan, Auto-Program or Auto-Tuning

5. Press Select or Enter or OK to scan

Sometimes a Double Rescan is needed to clear the memory of your digital TV or converter box:

1. Disconnect the antenna from the Converter Box or Digital TV.

2. Rescan without the antenna connected. As with any scan follow the on-screen instructions or owner’s manual for your device.

3. Unplug the Converter Box or Digital TV from the electrical outlet for one minute.

4. Reconnect the antenna to the Converter Box or Digital TV and plug the unit into the electrical outlet.

5. Rescan the Converter Box or Digital TV one more time.

WHERE IS MY29?

The “29" channels are still there, but are now all in the “9 Neighborhood”.

29.1 (My 29) is now 9.2
29.3 (Bounce) is now 9.4
29.4 (Movies!) is now 9.3

Anyone who used 9.2 (KMSP’s standard definition feed on UHF) can now get KMSP in HD on 9.1.
