According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, most Americans get eight hours and forty-five minutes of sleep each day.

Eleven-thousand people aged fifteen and older were surveyed.

The results are up nearly two full hours from a 2013 study by Gallup which found most Americans got six point eight hours each day.

This year's study also found unemployed people get an average of an hour more than those who work.

The total sleep times do include naps during the day.
