MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Minneapolis landed at No. 7 on a Rent.com list of the Top 10 Best Cities for Singles. According to Rent.com, “relatively inexpensive cost of living and great rental rates make Minneapolis an incredibly affordable for singles.”

Rent.com data shows the median rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Minneapolis is $1,395, so the city’s singles likely won’t agree with the “great rental rates” claim. A luxury apartment boom in Minneapolis spiked rent 3.5 percent from last year, according to research firm Marquette Advisors. With basic supply and demand economics in play, lower vacancy rates will continue to benefit landlords.

Rent.com synopsis for Minneapolis: “Pop out your headphones and enjoy music with your single friends at Minneapolis Music in the Parks. Scope out a potential mate through a stroll in the Sculpture Garden at the Walker Art Center or showcase your intellect with friends at trivia night at a local pub."

When it comes to drag racing, rocket-type speed is the name of the game -- but that also means things can go wrong very quickly, and a double crash at a Brainerd, Minn., track is another grim reminder.
