Philadelphia Police are looking for a suspect accused of robbing the Footaction in Oxford Circle.

Police say they received report of a robbery on June 10th at 7:10 p.m. at the store located on Cottman Avenue inside the Roosevelt Mall.

According to police, the suspect pretended to shop for shoes for about 20 minutes. The suspect then approached the counter and pulled a handgun, pointing it at the employee and demanded money and clothing, police say.

“Taking his time, patient, wasn't worried about other people coming in,” said Northeast Detectives Lt. Dennis Rosenbaum.

Sources tell Fox 29 the suspect had been shopping for size 13 sneakers and had a store employee pick out a large amount of clothing supposedly for his son's graduation presents. Then, he announced the robbery, and threatened to blow an employee's head off, according to sources.

“It’s a large caliber gun, semi-automatic, silver. It's huge. We're concerned about that,” said Lt. Rosenbaum.

The suspect had a female employee empty the cash registers, and then locked all the workers in a backroom. Authorities say the suspect piled items in front of the door, so they couldn't escape. Then, the suspect can be seen picking up bags of merchandise and escaping.

“Walks out with at least five or six bags of clothing and sneakers,” said Lt. Rosenbaum. “He made out with more clothing than he did cash.”

“Wow, that's really scary,” said Tiesha Dowd.

Dowd shops at the mall often. She was concerned for the store employees and worried about her own safety. A private security guard is now stationed at the store.

“I don't even want to go in the store cause you never know, and there was actually people in there shopping,” said Dowd.

“Hopefully, someone recognizes him or recognizes the gun and gives us a call,” said Lt. Rosenbaum.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 35-40 years old, 6’1"-6'2", 250-275 lbs. He was last seen wearing a navy pullover hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black boots.
