Police: Blaine teenager seriously injured trying to grab passing train

FRIDLEY, Minn. (KMSP) -

A 15-year-old boy from Blaine, Minn. suffered a serious foot injury after apparently trying to grab onto a passing freight train in Fridley, Minn. Thursday afternoon.

Fridley police were called to the 6600 block of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks at 3:36 p.m. Thursday on a report of a teenager that was caught on the tracks. First aid was administered by employees of a nearby business until Fridley police officers arrived. The boy was then taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Fridley police and BNSF are investigating the incident.
