Family, Friends, And Fans, Gather To Remember Maya Angelou

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- Maya Angelou's family, friends, and fans attend the late literary icon's memorial service Saturday.

The revered author passed away May 28th, at 86-years-old.

Best known for her autobiography, "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings," Maya Aangelou spoke to millions of readers through more than 30 books of fiction and poetry.

Among those readers were President Bill Clinton, First Lady Michelle Obama, and Oprah, who took turns speaking at the somber gathering in North Carolina.

The service was held at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, where Dr. Angelou taught for three decades.
