DETROIT (WJBK) - For the first time the family of 39-year-old Desanee Young is speaking out. Young is the mother of four who was found dead inside her Dodge Durango on the city's west side. Witnesses told FOX 2 her throat had been slit and that they saw multiple stab wounds.

Her family is now left with so many questions: 'What happened?' and 'Who would want to kill this woman who was suffering from multiple sclerosis?'

"She had MS and she was already dying. I would have thought she would have died from MS, not this way. I don't even know how they found her in Detroit; she would never go to Detroit by herself. That's not her to go to Detroit," Desanee's oldest daughter, Precious Davis.

Davis says Desanee left their Sterling Heights house around 3:30 Sunday morning. She thought she was going to the store but her mom never made it back.

Around six hours later a man walking his dog on Piedmont Street in Detroit made the gruesome discovery.

Not long after the cops broke the news to the family, Desanee's husband, Fred Young, was brought into custody and questioned. He claimed he was home all night. His silver BMW was towed and searched. Fred has since been released but FOX 2's Taryn Asher reports sources tell her he is still considered a person of interest.

"They questioned him. I dont' know what they asked him, I don't know. They took him to the station. I don't know what happened after that," says Davis.

Fred turned FOX 2 down for an interview but we discovered his son is no stranger to the law.

Frederick Young Jr., who has a different mother, is connected to some high-profile Detroit crimes. Right now, he is awaiting trial for the murder of veteran John Villneff and the Westland teens Jordan Bobbish and Jacob Kudla.

Meantime, the investigation into Desanee's murder continues.

"We want justice. We want to find out who murdered her. She died a brutal way. It wasn't her time," says family friend Cecilia Pankow.

"I just can't believe she died that way. No one deserves to die the way she died," says Davis.
