Cobb Co. family mourns son shot to death in Fla.

Posted: Updated:

A Cobb County family is mourning the loss of their only son after he was shot to death over the weekend.

Rachel Headlee wishes she could pick up the phone and dial her brother’s number and tell him how much she loves him.

Porter Headlee, 25, was shot to death in Saint Petersburg, Florida Sunday night. Porter graduated from North Cobb High School.

According to reports, Porter and his neighbor, Lonnie Lee, got into a dispute over loud noise at their apartment complex. At some point during the argument, investigators say Lee punched Porter to the ground and then shot him as he was getting up.

Porter’s family says words cannot describe the pain they’re feeling.

"Porter was not a violent person, he's never hurt a fly, there's no reason for this person to have shot him," said Rachel Headlee.
