The boy's father told police his son had been hit by a silver Ford Fusion with a "drive out tag." Police were able to track the vehicle to Waleska.

The driver was identified as 26-year-old Jordan Allen Hyde of Talking Rock. He now faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident, First Degree Homicide by Vehicle, DUI Drugs and two counts of Financial Transaction Card Fraud.

Police tell FOX 5 Hyde has admitted he was driving the car that hit the toddler. Hyde remains behind bars without bond.
