Here's more information about the California Primary elections on Tuesday, June 3rd.

PREVIOUS FOX 11 STORIES:
Here's an archive of previous FOX 11 election stories.

HIGHLIGHTS:

Governor:
Top two vote-getters will advance to the November general election. Sunday’s USC Dornsife/LA Times poll says, among likely voters, Governor Brown leads with 50%, Neel Kashkari (R) had 18% of the vote, and Tim Donnelly (R) has 13%. 10% are undecided.

House of Representatives - District 33:
There are 17 candidates running for the House seat being vacated by Henry Waxman. The district covers miles and miles of beach communities like Santa Monica, Malibu, Venice and the South Bay, and includes the wealthy areas of Calabasas and Palos Verdes, and also covers suburban Torrance. Waxman has been one of the most influential, liberal national lawmakers for four decades.

With so many candidates fighting for one seat, it is difficult to nail down a real front-runner, though several names are being tossed about by political analysts:

· Elan Carr, a Republican Iraq War vet and deputy LA County DA

· Wendy Gruel, a Democratic former San Fernando Valley-area L.A. councilwoman and former L.A. city controller

· Ted Lieu, a Democratic Party California State Senator, who has represented the 28th Senate District since February 18, 2011, after being elected to fill the seat of deceased Senator Jenny Oropeza

LA County Sheriff
There are 7 candidates running for the seat left vacant with the resignation of Lee Baca. Among the candidates: Paul Tanka, who has acknowledged in court that he is the target of a federal corruption investigation; Bob Olmsted, a former Sheriff's Commander who has positioned himself as the ''whistleblower'' on the jail violence issue, and Jim McDonnell, the Long Beach Police Chief who picked up the LA Times endorsement.

LA County Supervisor District 3
There are 8 candidates running for the seat being vacated by Zev Yaroslavsky, who has termed out. There are three candidates that are believed to be ahead of the pack – John Duran, the former West Hollywood Mayor who picked up endorsements from Mayor Eric Garcetti, Gloria Molina and the LA Times; Bobby Shriver, who is a former Santa Monica city council member and got the LA Daily News endorsement; and Shelia Kuehl, who spent 16 years in the state Legislature and now heads a public policy institute at Santa Monica College. LAUSD District 1
LA School Board District 1 seat, left open by the death of Marguerite LaMotte, covers much of South LA. There are 7 people on the ballot. One glaring omission on the final list of seven is absence of a Latino candidate: while the district is now predominately Latino, more black residents are active voters and the seat has been held by African American women for decades. George McKenna has the LA Times endorsement.

Propositions

Prop 41 Bonds for Veterans’ Housing and Homeless Prevention:

Would allow the state to sell $600 million in state bonds to pay for additional kinds of housing for veterans who are low-income of homeless. The money would be used for affordable multi-family residences, sucha s apartment complexes, some which would include supportive programs and services. The state would pay back $600 million in bonds, plus interest of about $150 million, over 15 years.

Prop 42 Public Records. Open Meetings. State and Local Governments:

Would shift the cost of obeying the Public Record Act from state to local governments. State law requires local governments to provide copies of documents to anyone who asks for them. The state currently has to pay local governments back for what it costs them to obey that law.
