Blighted home causes concern; Children living next door

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) -- A blighted home next to a facility that helps Detroit's abused and neglected youth get back on their feet will be demolished within the next few days, a spokesperson for the mayor's office tells FOX 2.

Wolverine Human Services, located on Lenox Street on Detroit's east side. The building and grounds at Wolverine Human Services are well kept.  They want the kids who live and learn at the facility to feel safe.

That's why they're worried about the blighted properties that surround them. Just next door, there's a blighted, dangerous home that they say is a target.

Wolverine Human Services reached out to the City of Detroit and so did FOX 2.  The mayor's office tells FOX 2 that they expect an emergency demolition of the property next to Wolverine Human Services within the next several days.
