More Summerlike Feel Expected over the Holiday Weekend

Posted: Updated:

The biggest bonuses to spring are the warming temperatures, the low humidity, and the lack of bugs that are all the more unpleasant side of the summer (unless you are in or near a lake of some sort, then just jump in). But we will be losing that spring “feel” as we head through the holiday weekend and dabbling in some summertime like weather. No, there will not be any big heat waves with temperatures sitting in the 70’s and low 80’s area wide, but humidity levels will be on the rise through the next few days which makes these numbers go from more pleasantly warm, to more of a sweaty, uncomfortable warmth. The next four maps explain it all. So these maps should forecast dewpoints (level of moisture in the atmosphere). Watch how they gradually rise over the next three days. First, we start with Friday afternoon with dewpoints in the comfortable 40’s…

Then we start to transition Saturday with dewpoints in the low to mid 50’s… still reasonably comfortable…

We then get to Sunday where dewpoints rise to either side of 60 and we start to really notice the humidity increase…
