MISSING PERSON: Police ask for unedited Fox 9 interview with Susan Pagnac

Posted: Updated:
MAPLE GROVE, Minn. (KMSP) -

There are still plenty of questions surrounding the search at a Maple Grove home where a 13-year-old girl lived before she went missing in 1989 -- but original police reports show conflicting stories.

Last Thursday, police spoke with Amy Pagnac's parents. The search of the family home hadn't began yet, and Susan Pagnac told Fox 9 News officers wanted to know what Amy was like and what she was into.

Susan Pagnac says she and her family have fully cooperated with the investigation from the beginning and only want answers, but there are still no clues as to what police are looking for as the search stretches into the third day.

MOTHER'S STORY INCONSISTENT WITH 1989 POLICE REPORT

Fox 9 News got to look at the original police report filed in 1989 and found the details inside contradict what Susan Pagnac is saying now.

In the report, officers wrote that Susan Pagnac told them they -- meaning she and Amy's father -- went to the Holiday gas station in Osseo to get gas when she suddenly got out of the car and took off. On Tuesday afternoon, Pagnac told Fox 9 News that report wasn't taking down correctly and insisted that Marshal Midden was alone with Amy when he returned from the gas station restroom to find she was gone.

"We corrected him 3 times," she said. "I was home."

AMY PAGNAC REPORTED AS A RUNAWAY BEFORE

Fox 9 News also requested records of police calls at the home and found that in the month leading up to Amy Pagnac's disappearance, she had been reported as a runaway three times.

Throughout the years, there have been reported sightings of Amy, but all those leads dried up. On Tuesday Afternoon, Susan Pagnac told Fox 9 the pattern of those runaway calls were much different than what happened in August of 1989.

"If she was going to take off, she's going to pack a bag, take the money downstairs that was in her wallet, and go," she said.

POLICE ASK FOX 9 NEWS FOR UNEDITED INTERVIEW

On Tuesday, police made a request to Fox 9 News asking to see the entire unedited interview conducted with Susan Pagnac on Monday. When she found out, she said that's "fine."

"I suspect they want interviews on everything," she said.

Police declined to say why they want the interview, but Fox 9 News has a policy not to hand out unedited interviews without a court order.

Even with questions surrounding the family and the search of their home, Susan Pagnac says she's more hopeful than ever -- but still cautious.

"I don't want to get my hopes up too high and then come to the end and have nothing come of it," she said.

With that in mind, she had a message she wanted to share with anyone who may no something.

"Please contact law enforcement," she urged. "Let them decide what's important. Amy needs you, please."

Police did confirm Tuesday that they have not found any human remains at the home and will be there the entire week.
