St. Francis schools cancel 'modified' lockdown

Posted: Updated:
ST. FRANCIS, Minn. (KMSP) - A modified lockdown has been canceled for Independent School District 15 schools in St. Francis, Minn.

St. Francis police said the individual in question is no longer in the area after an "incident" occurred earlier in the day at a nearby business.

Schools will dismiss at their regular times and buses will run normal schedules.

In a modified lockdown, all exterior doors to all school buildings are locked as a precautionary measure. All students and staff must remain indoors during the lockdown but can move about their respective classrooms.

The school district has not released any further details regarding the incident, though a spokeswoman with the district said the lockdown occurred after a reported armed robbery at County Market.
