YOUTUBE: Al-Shabaab courts Minnesota men again in new video

Posted: Updated:

A new recruiting video released by the Somali terror group al-Shabaab specifically mentions Minnesota in a brazen pitch urging possible recruits to catch the next flight to Mogadishu.

The video released by the Al-Kataib Foundation on Wednesday is not the first to have spoken directly to or about Minnesota men -- but it is the first time the group has faked up a boarding pass that specifically originates from Minnesota.

Minneapolis is a popular target for al-Shabaab due to the large Somali immigrant population. A number of young men have already disappeared overseas and have died for the terror group.

Just last year, the terror group released a sophisticated video idolizing so-called martyrs from Minnesota; however, the newest release is a significant step down from the last in terms of production quality.

In the video, al-Shabaab members armed with guns send a "message to the youth in the west" by stumbling through a rhyming appeal that praised those who carried out a vicious attack on a busy mall in Nairobi. All were wearing military-style camouflage and covered their faces.

When it comes to drag racing, rocket-type speed is the name of the game -- but that also means things can go wrong very quickly, and a double crash at a Brainerd, Minn., track is another grim reminder.
