Record 98 degrees one year ago in Twin Cities

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

On this date last year, the Twin Cities metro hit a record high of 98 degrees.

This year? Not so much.

Morning temperatures hovered near 40 degrees in the metro Wednesday morning, with high temperatures only expected to reach the mid-50s, making it feel more like October than May.

MAP: Low temperatures Wednesday morning, May 14, across Minnesota and Wisconsin. The coldest spot was Long Prairie, Minn. at 29 degrees.
