3 Shot In 3 Hours Overnight In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA -

Philadelphia police are busy Tuesday morning tracking down the people responsible for a number of overnight shootings.

The first occurred in Southwest Philadelphia, where a 49-year-old man was found dead inside a home on the 5600 block of Florence Avenue. He suffered a gunshot wound to the head just after 9:30 p.m.

Investigators say the man rents a room at the home, and he was found by the homeowner. There's no word on a suspect or a motive at this time.

Another shooting occurred in Kensington shortly after 11:30 p.m. Police were called to B and Somerset streets, where they found an 18-year-old victim who was taken to Episcopal Hospital and is listed in critical condition.

And a shooting in Point Breeze leaves many questions unanswered. A 22-year-old man was shot in the head. Police say they believe he was sitting in a car at the time of the shooting.

The victim is being treated at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
