Cops: Thieves stealing tote bags from Naperville Walgreens stores

Posted: Updated:
NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) - Police are looking for thieves who stole roughly 450 tote bags from three west suburban Walgreens stores earlier this month.

The thefts happened overnight between May 1 and May 2, behind three Walgreens stores in Naperville, according to a statement from Naperville police.

In all, the thief or thieves took about 450 white and gray plastic totes valued at $8 apiece, police said. Similar thefts have targeted Walgreens stores in nearby suburbs.

Authorities believe the totes may be resold on the secondary market, such as flea markets or other locations. All of the toes have the store logo on them, and are about 2 cubic feet in size.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

Anyone with information should call detectives at (630) 305-5920 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at (630) 420-6006.
