Man sentenced for concealing daughter's remains

Posted: Updated:

FREEHOLD, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey man who concealed the remains of his adult daughter for several years has been sentenced to six years in prison.

Sixty-year-old Dennis Adler pleaded guilty in March to a charge of disturbing human remains.

Police were called to Adler's former home in Keansburg in April 2012 after a cleaning service hired to prepare the residence for foreclosure discovered the remains under a crawl space. Dental records confirmed they were those of Kimberly Adler, though the cause and manner of her death remain undetermined.

Monmouth County prosecutors say that between 2008 and 2012, Dennis Adler moved his daughter's remains to four separate locations and concealed her death from others. They also say he provided false information regarding her whereabouts to law enforcement officers and officials on several occasions.

For decades, making some quick cash was the main drive behind so many who took the ride down the parkway to Atlantic City. But with so much to choose from nowadays, it looks like Atlantic City is in a lot of trouble.
